PGEM or PGEM PRO for home backup?
Choose a battery by both stored energy and available discharge current. PGEM is a 5.12kWh LFP module for compatible low-voltage systems. PGEM PRO provides more energy per module, but the right choice also depends on inverter demand, mounting and expansion plans.

A common voltage does not make models interchangeable. Check inverter approval, firmware, CAN/RS485 communication, cable sizing and protection before choosing PGEM PRO or adding modules to an existing system.
How much backup can 5.12kWh provide?
Illustrative sizing: 5.12kWh x 90% usable depth x 90% inverter efficiency = approximately 4.15kWh AC. At a steady 1kW load this is about 4.1 hours; at 2kW it is about 2.1 hours. These are estimates from a fully charged battery, not a runtime guarantee. Temperature, ageing, reserve settings, standby consumption and changing appliance loads affect results.

Expansion and installation checks
The May 2026 PGEM datasheet lists up to 50 modules in parallel without an extra device; earlier specifications list 32. Physical dimensions and weight also vary by revision. Confirm the supplied label and manual before ordering, mounting or expanding a system. Do not mix battery models or revisions without written approval.
PGEM is IP20. Choose a dry indoor location, verify the wall and fixings for the supplied unit, and leave the required service clearance. Compare SNA inverter options and Nigeria installation cases, then send your load list and inverter model for compatibility review.
