Review an SNA upgrade around the existing installation
SNA PRO-EU 3–6.5K is an IP66 solar inverter range for off-grid battery backup in Nigerian homes and small shops. Its 3K, 4K, 5K, 6K and 6.5K versions let an installer select output around the circuits that need power during an outage.
For an owner upgrading from SNA 3–6K, the important checks are the existing panel strings, battery bank and generator arrangement. SNA PRO is a separate family with its own electrical limits and documents; a similar model name does not make an equipment swap automatic.
Distinguish solar-array size from accepted input power
The 6K and 6.5K models list a maximum 15kWp PV array and 12kW PV input. Those are different design limits: neither increases the rated AC output beyond 6kW or 6.5kW. Smaller SNA PRO models have the separate array/input limits shown in Specification.
Two MPPTs allow separate strings, but reusing panels still requires their voltage and current to be checked. The 6K/6.5K versions list up to 135A battery charging and 140A discharging. Check whether the existing battery bank and cables support the proposed operating current.
Decide how the generator or smart-load port will be used
The dedicated generator or smart-load connection should be specified as part of the installation. Explain whether you need generator input or control of non-essential circuits, and ask the installer to identify the configured function and its operating limits.
IP66 gives the SNA PRO more siting flexibility than an indoor-only unit, while mounting clearance, ventilation, cable entries and electrical protection remain necessary. The operating range is -25 to 60°C, with derating above 45°C.
For replacement projects, include photographs of the existing inverter and battery labels, panel configuration and distribution board. For a new installation, use the inverter sizing guide to separate essential circuits from optional loads before requesting a design.

Frequently asked questions
Can SNA PRO replace my existing SNA 3–6K directly?
Do not assume a direct swap. Check panel strings, battery current and BMS settings, cables, protection and the generator connection against the SNA PRO model documents.
Why do 6K and 6.5K show both 15kWp and 12kW?
15kWp is the maximum PV array rating; 12kW is maximum PV input power. AC output remains 6kW or 6.5kW respectively.
Can the same port serve the generator and smart loads?
The connection is described as a generator or smart-load port. Confirm the selected function, supported wiring and operating settings for your installation rather than assuming both functions can be used together.
What information is useful for an SNA upgrade quote?
Provide the existing inverter and battery labels, panel-string configuration, generator details and the circuits you need to back up. This allows the proposed model and reusable equipment to be reviewed.
Plan your SNA PRO system
For an upgrade quote, send the existing SNA and battery labels, panel-string details and generator configuration. For a new system, include the essential circuits and preferred SNA PRO rating.
