Specify a single-phase hybrid system from 3kW to 8kW
GEN3-LB-EU gives a single-phase solar installation a choice of nine output ratings, from 3kW to 8kW. Start with the power required by circuits that run together, then check the battery bank and panel strings against that particular model. It is a hybrid solar inverter range for coordinating solar, storage and the available supply in Nigerian homes and small businesses.
The 8K model provides 8kW rated AC output. Its 12kW PV input allowance does not turn it into a 12kW inverter. Where your planned loads exceed the selected model’s continuous output, reduce the simultaneous load or review a different system design.
Two solar inputs, with limits that change by model
The two MPPT inputs allow an installer to assess separate panel strings. Maximum PV input is 6.6kW on 3K, 7kW on 3.6K/4K, 8kW on 4.6K/5K and 12kW on 6K–8K. An existing array should be checked for string voltage and current before being reused.
Battery capability also changes across the range: the maximum charge/discharge current rises from 80A on the smaller models to 180A on 8K. A battery that meets the 48V nominal connection and 40–60V operating range still needs sufficient current capability and supported BMS communication.
Choose GEN3 alongside the existing GEN ranges
Compare the model ranges rather than assuming every GEN inverter has the same limits. The existing GEN2 3–6K and GEN2 7–14K pages provide other output-range options. GEN3 has its own model-specific PV, battery and installation specifications; use the documents below for this series.
IP66 protection and built-in Type II AC/DC surge protection are features of the GEN3 range. A suitable mounting position, cable entries, earthing and electrical protection are still required. Its operating range is -25 to 60°C, with derating above 45°C.
If expansion is planned, discuss the approved parallel arrangement before choosing the initial equipment. The range supports up to 16 units, subject to matching models, wiring, battery capacity and commissioning requirements.

Separate essential and discretionary circuits during the site survey. This helps the installer set backup priorities and avoid using battery energy on unnecessary loads.

Frequently asked questions
How does GEN3 fit alongside GEN2?
GEN3 is a separate range covering 3–8kW. Compare its model-specific PV, battery-current and installation limits with the relevant GEN2 model before selecting or replacing equipment.
Does every GEN3 accept 12kW of solar input?
No. Maximum PV input is 6.6kW on 3K, 7kW on 3.6K/4K, 8kW on 4.6K/5K and 12kW on 6K–8K.
What should I check when choosing the 8K model?
Check the simultaneous AC load, motor starting requirements, panel string limits and the battery bank. The 8K is rated at 8kW AC output and lists up to 180A battery charge/discharge current.
Can a larger GEN3 be fitted to the same battery bank?
Only after checking the bank current capability, BMS communication, wiring and protection. Matching nominal voltage does not establish that the bank can supply a higher-output inverter.
